  We had Toben cater for our wedding this past November and we were very pleased with the service and food quality. We got the chicken as our main course and it was absolutely fantastic! Moist, well cooked and everyone got a leg (best part in my opinion). Even our vegetarian guests were raving about how fine the veggie meal was. The appetizers were also very good and the staff were very good at organizing our seating arrangement and refilling everyones drinks (even though our seating was a little crazy). Thank you again Toben and Kira too for all your help! Everything was absolutely lovely!

  We really appreciate the way we' were treated by everyone in this organization, beginning with the event coordinator. When we met her a couple of weeks before the event, we were impressed by her friendliness; easygoing manner; flexibility; recommendations about the food, rentals and room set-up; and her sound advice generally. We continued to be impressed by the way we were treated by the chefs and the servers. Thank you all so much for helping us make this party the wonderful occasion it was.

  Toben Food helped make our house party a great success! We received many comments from our guests about how delicious the food was, how beautiful the presentation of the food was, and how much there was to eat. Many guests asked us for the name of our caterer.

  The chefs that Toben Foods sent to our house were very flexible and accommodating. I asked them to cover the counters and stove with some old towels that I had, and they they were totally amenable to doing so. They kept everything very clean.

  I highly recommend Toben Food by Design for all your event needs. I’ve worked with this team on several occasions and have had nothing but stellar service. Their attention to detail from the initial site visit to day of the event is the best in the business. I’ve primarily worked with Lekhena who is always responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. Their food is innovative and delicious and always receives high praise from our attendees.

  Toben recently catered our very small and intimate wedding, which was hosted at the Campbell House. The event was smooth and beautiful, and the staff were charming and well organized. Toben was easy to work with from the beginning. They were happy to accomodate changes to the event and the menu, and were helpful in offering advice in planning. The food was beautiful, and the cocktails were delicious. I did feel though that there were a few too many staff (I think 8 staff?) for a very small party (24 people), which made labour cost slightly high. However, this also meant very good service, and never an empty glass. Thanks Toben for a beautiful and memorable event!

  The servers were also fantastic. They were friendly, cheerful, unobtrusive, and observant. They served the food, cut up the lemons and limes for the drinks, made the coffee and tea, set up the sugar and milk with little signs, and ran up and down the stairs to the basement fridge many times to replenish the soft drinks and juices. In particular, I want to mention how proactive the servers were, which I really appreciated. For example, whenever a guest arrived, one of the servers would come to whatever room I was in to let me know about it so that I could greet the guest. Whenever a guest brought flowers, one of the servers would immediately take them from me and say "Here, let me handle that"; they found the vases, cut the stems, and placed the vases on a table. One of our relatives came early and asked if there was coffee. One of the servers said she was just about to make the coffee; as soon as the coffee was ready, she brought a cup over to that guest.

  We had a wonderful experience with Toben Food by Design. The food itself was amazing! So incredibly delicious. People are still talking about the tequila lime shrimp, the chicken tacos and the braised shortrib! But beyond that, you far exceeded any expectations that I had. The night was seamless. The chefs were top notch. The wait staff were so polished and professional. Everything was PERFECT. You thought of so many details which helped me immensely in planning my first ever fundraiser. I would highly recommend Toben and I can't wait to use them again myself!

  The kitchen was left spotless. The rentals were returned to the garage waiting for pick-up. All of this made our duties as hosts so much easier.
